Choosing a Topic

"Commit to a Single Viable Topic" was mainly about choosing a topic you can make a strong argument about. Don't use cliches as your topic but rather choose a subsection of the overall cliche to further your point in your research paper. Basically choose one topic to research and stick with it but make sure you're able to do it in a reasonable amount of time.

My take away from that section is to mainly make sure you're interested in your topic enough to stick with it throughout your research paper. I feel that the best way to choose a topic would to be follow all the main points explained within the "choosing a Topic" section in the textbook. Choose something that you're passionate about and are genuinely curious about that topic. In order to avoid choosing a research question that you already know the answer to you should delve outside your comfort zone and choose something that you don't know much about.

I believe I have chosen a community that I want to learn more about, mainly the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) here on campus. I haven't decided what research question to pose within the community at the moment though.
